Online Platform Design
Pinga Professional sought our expertise to develop an online platform for their startup idea that would connect people with legal requirements to lawyers.
Discovery sessions to understand your business
We worked closely with business owner Philip Argo in a series of initial discovery sessions to fully understand his idea and how that business logic could translate to a functional online platform. During these sessions we also designed the branding for the newly formed company.
The outcome of this phase of consultancy was a specification for the platform along with initial branding and design concepts, which we presented on a microsite. This gave Phil the tools he needed to go away and present the idea to his market.
Minimum Viable Product
Following this market research, a conference was identified as an opportunity to showcase an initial version of the platform. We broke the specification down to produce an MVP - Minimum Viable Product - which could be developed in time for the conference and which lowered the initial investment required.
By focusing on an MVP, we were able to deliver a working platform to a selection of the user stories in the specification for the basic functionality required for a demonstration. This meant we could quickly develop and test the idea.
Putting you in control
The platform is a custom Joomla CMS build integrated with Sage for online payments. This means the system can be managed by Phil without the need for developer input, further saving ongoing costs. We provided a training session for using and managing the platform, as well as a demo version of the platform for Phil to present at the conference.
Iterating with your business needs
Following initial testing and sign ups some of the original user stories excluded from the MVP, plus some additional requirements, were identified. So we created a Phase 2 plan for another sprint of development. This highlights the effectiveness of incremental development and planning in ensuring that investment in the platform is cost effective and relevant to what the users of the platform will really need - which is ultimately the measure of success of the platform.
