OnGen has devised an online renewable energy feasibility tool and came to us for assistance in reviewing and improving the user experience.

Working with you

We worked closely with the OnGen team in reviewing the platform to gain a full understanding of how it had got to its current stage and to understand what aspects of the tool were most important for their users.

Our designer posed questions to build up a picture of the improvements that could be made. We also worked closely with the developers of the platform throughout the process, bringing our expertise and experience to the team to work together in improving the product.

This collaborative process ensures key technical elements are maintained whilst incorporating the new design features.

Developing visuals

Following the initial consultancy we developed a number of visuals that enhanced the overall styling, graphics and colour schemes as well as reviewing and improving the structure and user journey through the tool.

All of these elements combined to improve the presentation and delivery of the often technical information contained within the tool.

The visuals were provided to the OnGen developers for implementation, and we assisted wherever required in supporting this process.

An online tool for the users

The tool is built with the end user front of mind. New graphics present the results clearly and visually. Progress through the tool can be tracked making it easier for users to come back and amend their data.

The revamped user experience and design will ensure the users reap the benefits of the tool. Ultimately it will help increase user satisfaction, the aim being to increase the number of people using the tool and potentially benefiting from cost savings on their energy bills from the application of feasible renewable energies.
