A native mobile app running on iOS and Android gives medical professionals the information they need on the go
Web Foundry were tasked with migrating the code for the NHS Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Trust Emergency Medical Handbook from a previous developer that had gone out of business. Time was of the essence as this app was intended to be a valuable resource for staff.
On reviewing the code, we did a ground up re-build. The requirement was for a stable app running natively on Android and iOS platforms. The app was the essential handbook for hospital emergency workers. The app would need a backend database to manage directory content.
Web Foundry would need to provide full testing, QA and submission and management to the app stores.
Ongoing management was also required.
Web Foundry started by migrating the existinf code and undertaking a discovery session and code review. On reviewing the code, we did a ground up re-build and redesign of the UI.
We also had to run thorough testing before deploying the app on the Google and Apple app stores. Ongoing maintenance involves keeping everything up to date, including recent code refactoring to take account of Apple's latest SDK updates.
We also provide Wordpress hosting and server management. Uptime is 100% to date.
The surgeon is a particular type of member and CPD content can be made available to this user type. Content includes videos, events, and training materials.
The client's in-house writer has access to write and save draft content to the website. The content can be reviewed and approved and then published my an authorised manager.
Without breaking any client confidentiality we aim to provide a guide as to relative cost and duration of a project compared to our 'typical' project. Therefore, a project with a high price and duration of more than 8 weeks, would indicate a project of substantial complexity and time investment.
