Back in 2000 I started my first web business, Rundeep. It went on to win numerous awards, serving clients such as Gleneagles Hotel, Highland Spring, National Farming Union of Scotland, Scottish Enterprise and over a hundred independent enterprises.

It was a traditional kind of new media agency (if that doesn't sound like a contradiction of terms). You know the sort of thing; a hierarchical team with project managers, designers, programmers and complete with training regimes, attendance books and the obligatory health and safety manual. All well and good. But things move on.

The business represented another era, a bygone time - a different way of doing things.

Make way for a new model.

I believe that clients are now ready to move on. They want a faster, more responsive service, fresh-thinking and invisible technology. The only good old-fashioned virtue is great service, but how often do you get this?

In 2006 I decided to create a business that was a radical departure from the norm. The traditional office and hierarchical structures are gone. Replaced by people who really know how to work together, to get things done, connected by technology and living and breathing the passion for web design.

Let's dispel a myth: the best people are not necessarily on your doorstep and that is why the traditional agency model is fundamentally flawed.
