When Nautical Living approached Web Foundry to propose ideas for their website the challenges and issues were all too familiar. The original site had very limited Content Management capability, restricting functionality and creativity.
The solution we offered removed
all these barriers and limitations. The new e-commerce website fully
integrates with PayPal and enables
dynamic control over all content. The client can easily add any number
of new
products and organise these into categories. Images can be uploaded
quickly and managed with ease. A nice touch is the automated generation
of
thumbnail images for listing pages - a great timesaver.
The
website
uses different design templates, which, in conjunction with
stylesheets, control the look of every single page and offer a high
degree of control over the branding of their site. Recent additions
include home page ticker tape for news announcements, a gallery control
to showcase new interior design ideas and media pages to show off the
high levels of publicity this business now enjoys.
Navigation
controls include
a breadcrumb trial as well as dymamic multi-tier menus. Other controls
include a site wide search. The
website is built to optimise at 800 x600 screen resolution and uses
XHTML transitional coding. All pages are now being optimised for search
engine rankings, again using the capabilities of the Content Management
System
